Hey, and welcome to the first post of Rushed Makeup Tips week!
I’m posting everyday this week with my makeup tips for when you’re in a rush! I wrote an introduction that you can read HERE, which explains everything.
Today is all about the base, which is possibly the most important step – it’ll affect how other products you use will look on your skin. Here are my tips for today’s little post on how to achieve flawless skin easily.
Seeing as you’re having a busy day, a primer is an essential! It’ll keep your foundation on as well as make it easier to smooth out onto the skin.
My favourite ever primer is the Porefessional from Benefit, which I have a mini of. This is perfect if you’ve got oily skin and you need to make sure that really oily areas stay matte. It’s also great if you’ve got large and visible pores, as it’ll smooth them out and make application of your base makeup easier! It may seem pricey (£24.50!), but a little goes a long way and it really does work.
It doesn’t take a genius to work out that you’re not going to want a foundation that takes ages to blend. Put that NARS Sheer Glow away, ladies!
Foundations that sink in fairly quickly and is easy to blend are your best bet, as well as products that are very light like BB creams and tinted moisturisers because they’re super-quick to work into the skin, and you don’t have to worry about them looking cakey!
My all-time favourite BB cream is the Rimmel 9-in-1! It gives a good amount of coverage but it blends really evenly too!
If you prefer a slightly heavier coverage, a good foundation is the Revlon Nearly Naked – it’s much heavier than that BB cream that I just mentioned but it’s easy to work with, and sinks in quite quickly.
As for concealer, a highlighting one is the best option because it’ll make you look more awake after that early morning! Having one that is high-coverage is also a good idea because you want it to cover your dark circles fully. My two favourites are the Collection Lasting Perfection (obviously!) and the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch (which I’m nearly out of 😦 ).
For both of these things, ditch the makeup brushes and go in with your fingers! It’ll save you so much time, and every second counts in the morning, I know.
Seeing as you’ll be having a busy day, there might not be time to top up on any of your products! And because you’ll be rushing around, the last thing you want to be worrying about is your concealer rubbing off or that big blemish reappearing. If there’s anything that you listen to in this post, please let it be this: USE SOME POWDER! ANY POWDER! I love the Rimmel Stay Matte personally, but anything that’ll reduce shine and keep your products on your face will work just fine!
So that’s day one of my busiest blogging week yet! I hope it helped some of you. I’ll be back tomorrow with my tips on cheek makeup when you’re in a rush!
