It’s day 5 (the last day) of Rushed Makeup Tips week – and my favourite day because it’s all about lips which is a category that I could chat about for a long time.
I’m posting everyday this week with my makeup tips for when you’re in a rush! I wrote an introduction that you can read HERE, which explains everything.
Here are my tips!
Don’t feel daring
I always think that feeling daring and adventurous with makeup is so great, but when you’re in a rush it really isn’t so great. Using a lipstick that you’ve never used before, or grabbing the first gloss you spot, or going for a classy red lip – brilliant on chill-out days, but when you need to be out of the door in ten minutes, just no.
Something long lasting
As you’re rushing, topping up on your lipstick isn’t going to be on your mind and you don’t want patchy colour as the day goes on. Something long lasting is a great option!
I’d recommend the Maybelline Coloursensational lipsticks for this because they feel so soft and silky on the lips but they last amazingly! They do wear off as the day goes on but they wear off evenly, not in patches, so it looks really natural. Although they last they’re not hard to remove either.
You can’t go wrong with a nude or a muted pink when you’re hurrying. They’ll go with just about every eye colour too, so they’re perfect for if you’re not sure what to go for.
I love the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Nudist – it’s a glossy, toffee nude shade which I wear so much.
We all have those colours that we know look good, and when you don’t have much time they’re the best ones to reach for! As long as they match your eye makeup they’re the perfect option – you’ve worn them so much you just know that they look good!
My two favourite ‘familiar’ lip products are the Collection Lock’n’Hold gloss in Body Pop and the MUA lipgloss in shade 5 – I just know that they look good with my skin tone and that I don’t have to worry about them once they’re on!
Balms and gloss
The things that need the least worry though, are balms and glosses. The Maybelline Baby Lips are so great for this – they add a splash of colour but keep your lips soft and hydrated.
The two glosses that I love are the Natural Collection Juicy ones (they make your lips look super shiny and glossy – and juicy, of course!) and also the MAC Dazzleglass in Like Venus. This is very sticky which drives me mad, but it adds such a beautiful shimmer to the lips and the gloss lasts for ages which you rarely get – most of the gloss wears off within around an hour or so.
That’s it! We’ve completely finished my tips week. I really hope that some of you benefited from some of my advice that I’ve shared, and if you’d like more series like this please let me know in the comments – I’d love to know what you guys want!
