February Favourites

Goodbye February, hello March – and in my books, hello spring!

How flipping fast is the year going? It’s insane, honestly – before we know it summer will be here and all I can say is bring it on, because I am so done with dark wintery mornings.

Anyway, in today’s post I will be sharing all of the beauty products that I have been enjoying through the past month! Let’s get started.

urban decay naked on the run
Firstly we have the most beautiful palette of our time – the Naked on the Run from Urban Decay.

I have just been absolutely loving it – as I mentioned in my review post of this palette, I purchased it after being unsuccessful in a giveaway. And let me tell you, I haven’t regretted it – every single penny was totally worth it!

Although I love everything inside, I have especially been enjoying the eyeshadows – particularly Dive (the metallic rose gold) and Fix (the pale matte nude). I’ve just been sweeping Dive all over the lid and buffing Fix into the crease for a neutral smoky eye.

the body shop solid oil lips

Another product I’ve been enjoying recently is the Solid Oil Lips balm from The Body Shop. Now, this has very mixed reviews online but I was in store a few months back and I decided to give it a go – and I absolutely love it!

I wouldn’t say it’s a ‘treatment’ balm by any means – I still swear by my Blistex MedPlus to heal my lips – but this is a lot lighter and more softening than healing. It’s become part of my morning skincare routine; I apply it about 20 minutes or so before applying lipstick and it really nourishes! Using this also means that other lip products apply evenly on my lips and don’t gather around dry areas (girl problems, hey?).

real techniques nics picks

Next up is the Cheek Brush from Nic’s Picks – a limited edition Real Techniques brush kit! I’ve reviewed it here.

The Cheek Brush is exclusive to the set, and I have been loving it for everything – as you can see, I’ve been enjoying to contour with it but it’s also the perfect size to apply blusher and highlighter to the cheeks.

As the Real Techniques brushes are all synthetic you can use them with both cream and powder products… I just can’t fault them, and this is my favourite brush at the minute!

mac dainty

As for cheeks – my new holy grail blush is Dainty from MAC. Argh, I just flipping love this!

Ever since I picked it up and mentioned it in my MAC haul I haven’t reached for anything else – it is just beautiful. I was after my perfect blush, and this fits the bill of that pretty well.

The pastel pink really warms up my complexion and the shimmer also gives a light sheen to the cheeks, although it’s nothing crazy! I’m especially enjoying it as I’m quite pale now – we’ll have to see when the summer months come if it suits me when I’m more tanned. If you have a darker complexion and you’ve tried this, do let me know your thoughts!

bobbi brown sparkle cement

And my final February favourite is the Sparkle Eyeshadow from Bobbi Brown in Cement.

Now, if you read my recent review of this you’ll already know that this is quite expensive to say the least – but honestly, I have been getting so much wear out of it and I only bought it a couple of weeks ago!

I’ve just been packing this on the lids with my finger, applying lots of mascara and wearing a nude gloss  – and I’m good to go. It’s quick and easy makeup – the sparkle makes it seem like you’ve spent ages on your eyes when you’ve only spent a couple of minutes.

So those are my favourites from the month!

    1. Thank you! I’m a right fusser when it comes to taking pictures so hopefully it came out okay!
And haha, I think I suffer with the same problem! I just have so many! x

    1. Dainty is such a gorgeous colour, I’d highly recommend it!
And I actually love the Cheek Brush for that too! It’s the perfect shape to contour with, and I suppose as it’s synthetic you can use cream and powder with it!
      I love a good multi-tasker! x
