BREAKING NEWS: The ‘Naked’ hype got the better of me…

Hey everyone! So sorry about my slap-dash posting routine at the moment, I’ll be back on track soon – promise?

Anyway, today’s post is to share with you something kind of amazing! I’m sure you’ve all heard about the Urban Decay Naked palettes. Am I right? Thought so.

All three of them (and the Basics) are… Very, very popular to say the least! But with that popularity comes a hefty price tag, which I suppose is the main reason I’ve never picked one of them up before (yes, I do have the Naked on the Run but that’s got a bit of everything in, so I didn’t feel as bad!).

And I’ve been tempted by so, so many people – and I think you, Miss Karen over at Confetti and Curves, was the worst for that! (But thank you, because it is incredible! x)

But today, I found courage. Today was the day that I splurged on the Naked palette! And I feel like a new person, I’m telling you.

Here it is then, in all its glory. I chose the first one – the Naked 2 did catch my eye though, so maybe there’s a future splurge in store for my purse! I just adored the bronze-toned shades in this palette.

I do enjoy wearing pinks on the lids (see my recent pink look here! – sorry for the plug) but the colours in the Naked 3 were quite purple-y toned. I’ve seen them look gorgeous, but I’m one for playing it safe and sticking with the neutrals.

I haven’t even had the courage to dabble into the little beauties as of yet, because I wanted to keep it looking perfect for the photos! They did feel incredible when I swatched the testers though – they were so thick and buttery, and damn were they pigmented. I had to scrub at my hand!

At first glance the colours that catch my eye areΒ Sin, Sidecar, Smog, Darkhorse and Toasted… Although I like them all to be honest! EvenΒ Creep and Gunmetal which you can see on the end there – the blue shades – I’m sure I can smudge on the lower lashline!

And inside you also get 4 samples of the Primer Potion yayΒ *happy dances*!

I’m going to be giving this bad boy a full-on review as soon as I’ve tried all of the colours, so do prepare yourself for that. I’m just so excited right now! Everyone around me is laughing at how thrilled I am to finally own this.

Makeup lovers… Do you feel my joy?

Anyway, I’m off now to go and look at it lovingly and think up some new looks I can create!

Have you tried the Naked palettes? Which one’s your favourite?

PS. Do you guys want any eye-of-the-days with this palette? Let me know!

    1. Hi Annie! How are things? We haven’t spoken for ages!
And I have to say, price tag aside, that I couldn’t be happier with the palette! I can create so many looks with it!
Have you tried it (or any other Naked palettes)? xxx

      1. Hi my lovely! You’re right, we haven’t had a proper chat in a good while! 😁😁😁 But we’ll fix that… Starting now! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‹
My lovely, I haven’t tried any of their palettes… Bacause #1 we have no counters here, #2 when a product is wayyy tooooo hyped I kind of loose my interest in it and #3 there’s no UD counter here – surprise, surprise!
We had the Naked Basics 1 for a short while at Sephora but they took that down, for whatever reason! πŸ˜“
The Naked 1 looks so lovely and very versatile indeed! You should do a FOTD including this one… Or a day to night kind of look! πŸ˜‰
        Lots of xx

      2. I was just having a read through your NARS lippie post actually – I’m in love with that colour!
And that’s such a shame! No Urban Decay counter at all?! That’s awful Annie! Urban Decay have some beautiful eyeshadows! The Naked basics seemed pretty in store but I think the full-on palette wins for me. Fingers crossed they bring a counter into your Sephora ASAP! 😁
Oh, and I’m already planning some EOTD/FOTDs that I can create with this palette! Should be up very soon I think! I’ve got a haul first though, I’m never out of the drugstore! 😊xxxx

      3. Haha! Can’t wait to see all of these new posts you’re already planning! Between the two of us, hauls are my favourites! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‹πŸ˜
Yes, I know for sure that they plan on getting a UD counter to my Sephora sometime this year! Fingers crossed it will be soon! πŸ‘ŒπŸΌπŸ˜Œ
Haha! My NARS ladies made you fall in love didn’t they?! 😁😁😁
        Lots of xx

      4. I love hauls too! Just admiring the new and exciting products! 😍
And that’s great news! Get saving Annie because you would just adore this palette!
And those stunning lipsticks definitely did! I’ve yet to try anything from NARS which is kind of strange, so maybe one of those will my very first product from them! xxx

      5. Oh! You haven’t tried NARS before? Definitely try them asap!
And yeah! Next time I’ll be in Milan I’ll definitely get me some UD as well! I’ll be thinking about you for sure! Haha!
        Lots of xx

      6. NARS is on my bucket list for sure!
And definitely! You won’t be disappointed, I promise! I do think that UD shadows are some of the best on the market! xx

  1. Hehe this is my only palette from Urban Decay too and I love it to bits!! I’m not that pale skinned so the colours in the Naked 2 Palette probably wouldn’t show up very well on me, but Naked 3 is on my splurge list next!! πŸ˜€ Enjoy the palette hun, looking forward to your review! xx

    1. Haha you’re just making me even more excited to use all of the shades!! And yes, I noticed that with the Naked 2 – it’s likely the paler ones would be a bit ashy, although it’s a shame because some of the darker colours would actually pair really beautifully with your skin tone. It’s just not worth the price though if you’re only using 4 of the colours!
And I’m in two minds about the Naked 3! You’ll have to let me know how you like it lovely and I can decide from that! I’m just not sure pinks would suit me?
Oh, and I’m on to making that review! You can expect it in the next few weeks I think πŸ™‚ xx

      1. Oh yea abt the pinks – ikr! I tried pink eyeshadows before and it made me look like a sick person 😦 I’m gonna give it another go since I see yellow skin toned ladies pull the colour off so maybe it was just me then… hehe I’ll definitely let you knw how I go!

        Liked by 1 person

      2. Although I’m pale I do have quite strong yellow undertones to my skin so do let me know! I’d be really interested to see what you think, as I’ve only really seen those with pink undertones pull the colours off! xx

      3. Hehe I will definitely. You could check out Jen (frmheadtotoe) she did a few looks with her Naked 3 and it looks gorgeous on her! Perhaps the trick is to use brown eyeliner with it too? When I tried it ages ago I was a newbie and simply coloured my lids with pink so it looked horrible lol

        Liked by 1 person

      4. You know what, I was actually having a look at Jen’s Naked 3 review earlier! I’ll have to look at her tutorials; thanks for the heads up.
She has quite strong yellow undertones too, so that would be super helpful! Thank you!
And I feel your pain 100%. The worst for me on my skin tone is lilac. NOT flattering on me at all! xx

        Liked by 1 person

      5. Hahahha yeah I usually go to her tutorials because she’s also Asian, so whatever works on her skin and eyes are more likely to work on mine πŸ˜€ And yep, I’ve never ventured into lilac/purple except for my nails… some colours just don’t go with our skin tone ><

        Liked by 1 person

      6. It’s so handy when you find someone with a similar skin tone to you, because you can always refer to them for reviews!
And lilac is just not my colour at all! I wish I could pull it off though, it can look so beautiful! xx

  2. I want this palette so bad! I plan on purchasing it sometime in the future. I actually want to collect all 3 eventually lol. I have Smog and Sin in my UD Ammo palette and I really love those shades! ❀ πŸ™‚ xo

    1. Haha one day I’d like to complete my collection too! There must be some great satisfaction that comes with owning all of them… Plus so much choice in the morning!
I have to say, since this post went up I did cave and use Smog on my lids and I absolutely love it! I haven’t had chance to try Sin yet though, but it’s definitely next on my to-do list! xx

      1. Maybe you’re right… But we can dream, can’t we? And as hard as it might be, I still can’t get enough of it! Collecting makeup is such a fun hobby! x

  3. I just purchased the collection nude palette which is mean to be a cheaper Alternative to the naked basics I blogged about it today πŸ™‚ it seems great and can’t wait to use it plus it doesn’t burn a whole in your pocket

    1. I’ve seen lots of positive reviews on that Collection palette! And I have to say, when it swatched in store the colours were so creamy and pigmented!
And throw in the reasonable price tag too… I have not idea why I haven’t tried this yet! Need to give my purse a rest after this splurge though… πŸ™‚ xx

    1. Who isn’t?! I’m with you on that one! Always pull me in…
And the look you created is so pretty! I might try that myself with others colours πŸ™‚ xx

  4. I remember when I first purchased the naked palette! I am so in love with it – all of them, really! I own all three naked palettes and both basics palettes. They’re all the best! I saw you mentioned your love for pink looks – I’d definitely go for the Naked 3, as well for that. I just recently got into pink eye looks and that palette is the best for it! I’d love to see any looks you dream up and create with this palette as I’ve been in an eye crafting rut lately!

    1. Aw so this is a memorable day, right? Haha, I’m so excited about it!
You’ve got all of them?! WOW I’m jealous! I do like the look of the Naked 3 but I’m not too sure if I’d get enough wear to justify the price… I’ll look into it anyway! It does have some beautiful shades in it.
And I’m quite happy to share some eye looks using the palette lovely! I think I’ve got a golden look ready for this week which isn’t using it, but I’ll get onto that! Fingers crossed I can inspire you! xx

      1. Yes! That day has a special place in my makeup loving heart! I do own them all, but it’s taken me a while to build the collection, but well worth it. They get the most wear out of my palette collection, which I have a post about on my blog. I purchased the naked 3 last, as I thought I might not get any wear from it, but I fell in love! The color range is nice and the shadow quality mixed with the shades is beyond my dreams! Beautiful, all of them!

      2. They are so beautiful, you’re right! And I’m the same, I also find I get more wear out of palettes. They’re basically eyeshadow looks without the thinking! I can tell I’ll be reaching for this A LOT… And I can also tell that this won’t be the last one I buy! πŸ™‚ xx

        Liked by 1 person

      3. Definitely! I almost exclusively own palettes as opposed to single shadows. If you do make the decision to buy more naked palettes, let us know how you like it! This has inspired me to post looks I create!

    1. The Naked 2 palette looks amazing! It was between this and that, and although I’m meant to be giving my purse a break now it’ll probably feature in a future haul. I love the taupe shades in it!
This is just something I know I’ll get lots of wear out of – which is good because it isn’t cheap! If you like the Naked 2 I’m sure you’d love this xx
