B. Sweet Popping Candy Highlighting Serum | Review

Happy Tuesday to you all… After having the bank holiday off yesterday I’m feeling in a complete muddle, like today is Monday. This’ll be an issue the entire week!

That aside though, I hope you all had a lovely pro-longed weekend! I had a couple of chill-out days – you know the drill, photo sessions, writing posts, relaxing in the garden and baking – and then went out with the family yesterday! Let me know what you got up to – I’d love to know.

Now onto today’s post – dedicated to a product that has ‘revolutionised’ my foundation routine, and by saying that I ain’t exaggerating one little bit! It’s from B Beauty, a brand that you can buy in Superdrug if I’m not mistaken, and it’s their Highlighting Serum. IN LOVE.

Time to tell you why.

Ooh I also found out something really interesting about B – it’s a vegan brand, which makes me super happy. I don’t just buy vegan makeup but it’s always a plus for me if a product is!

The price tag that comes with this serum is Β£14.99, so quite pricey considering that it’s sold in the drugstore – is that just me?

The packaging is… Not my favourite, I have to say. Very plastic-y. And for the price, I at least would have appreciated a glass bottle! It does come with a pump though – I have no idea who’s brilliant idea it was to make products that don’t come with a pump, but it completely puts me off purchasing them (especially if you have to buy the pump separately, hence the reason that I’ve never considered NARS Sheer Glow).
One thing that I do adore about the packaging is that each time you pump it a plug at the bottom pushes upwards which means you’ll be able to use every last bit of product.

The serum contains highlighting pearls so when you pump it out it has a pretty odd texture – it feels lumpy almost, but it blends out easily. Once finished with it gives such a natural sheen!

You can pop this onto your skin just after your completed skincare routine if you like to give a natural glow, but my personal favourite way to use it is to mix it into my regular liquid foundation – just one small pump of both. As you may already know I hate heavy foundations, so mixing a blob of serum in sheers the product out and really hydrates the skin – a bonus for me, as my skin’s very dry. It also adds a lot of radiance and glow to the skin and makes you look really healthy.
Because of the finish I’m not sure that this would be great for any of you who are really reallyΒ oily, but for very dry to slightly oily I think this would be brilliant! The glow that it gives doesn’t feel greasy or oily in the slightest, just hydrating.

You can pick this up here!

Overall this little serum has completely changed my foundation routine and I can’t say enough good things about it! Perfect for spring too – that dewy look is so ‘in’ now, right? Plus, there’s nothing as beautiful as healthy, natural looking skin.

Do you like dewy skin, or are you a matte lover?

    1. This is so pretty – but really subtle too; disco ball face was never ‘in’!
And there’s nothing like a healthy glow in the summer! xx

  1. Ooooh this looks gorgeous – my kinda thing!! Oddly enough I think the packaging looks rather lovely, but I guess what it’s like to hold & use is very different than a picture πŸ˜€ Will definitely be adding this to my wish list, I agree a little pricey for drug store but compared to the price tag on some of the high end products (if it’s good) it’s not a bad investment I guess πŸ™‚ Karen xo

    1. The actual packaging in itself is quite pretty Karen – I’d just love for it to be glass, it’d just feel that bit more high-end!
And compared to bigger brands the price isn’t bad at all! Maybe I gave it a bit too harsh of a telling off? You get a great amount of product for that price too! xx

      1. I’d love it to be glass and you’d expect it for that price wouldn’t you?! Or am I just expecting far too much lol
No I don’t think you did at all, it’s a great opinion and with so much out there now I think feedback like this is great in terms of comparison! I much prefer reading an honest review of pro’s AND con’s from the buyers point of view πŸ™‚ You done a great job – I’m really looking forward to trying it!!!! Xxx

      2. We have a similar taste then haha! And thank you for that lovely feedback – I always try to give some pros and cons in every product I mention, because nothing’s perfect!
There’d be no point in me saying this is completely perfect if it’s not, because I’d hate for anyone to be disappointed after purchasing and it not being as great as they thought it’d be.
And do let me know if you try it lovely! Would be keen to hear your thoughts on it! xxx

      3. You’re so very welcome huni, it was a great feature to read!! I love your honesty – I think perfection is so hard to achieve these days with so many products on the market, there really is so much choice, plus having a bit of constructive feedback is always appreciated πŸ™‚ I will certainly keep you posted when I do try it out! have a great week ❀ XXXX

      4. I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
You’re so right – perfection really is tricky to find, especially when you’re on a budget. I look for honesty when I’m reading any kind of review; there’s no point in looking into a product and knowing the post you’re reading isn’t honest!
Plus constructive criticism is what I look for in my blog comments, so I’m sure companies are after ways that they can improve too! I just value honest reviews like nothing else – ESPECIALLY if the blogger’s been sent the product. That’s a real test if they’re trustworthy or not!
And do keep me posted! I’d love to know of your opinions differ fro mine! xxxx

  2. I am definitely more of a dewy skin kinda girl, and this product looks right up my street! I do agree with you though, seems a little bit pricey for a drugstore rang – but seems like its worth it xoxo

    1. I’m such a dewy skin fan!
But you’re right – it is kind of pricey for the brand and the packaging. It’s just a gorgeous subtle sheen though – most of the highlighting products in the drugstore are quite metallic and look unnatural! xx

    1. 100% – healthy glow all the way! Love it all hear round, but I feel like it fits perfectly in spring.
And I’m glad you liked the post! I’d definitely recommend giving it a go if you like dewy skin; the sheen is really subtle and nowhere near glittery! xxx

  3. Hahah my body is also not adapted to the change of it being Tuesday! And I don’t like my skin being to matte or to dewy. I like the right amount of shine! Also I like the way you write your posts btw ^_^ xoxo

    1. So confusing, I know. Not saying I’m complaining that we had an extra day off though haha!
And I like that in between glow too on most days – sometimes the dewiness can be quite overpowering! I can’t do matte though – the foundation just clings to dry skin and leaves me looking so dull!
And thank you so much! xxx

      1. No I am NOT complaining about missing Monday at school! And yeah sometimes skin being to matte can just cling which is annoying Β°_Β° and no problem ^_^ xoxo

      2. I completely agree with you! I do love matte foundation on oily skin though, it just balances out perfectly! x
