Today we’re talking makeup brushes – a guilty pleasure of mine, as I’m sure you have all guessed by now.
However, these brushes aren’t just any brushes, oh no – they are the smallest, softest, most travel-friendly brushes I have ever come across, and that’s why I am completely dedicating this post to them today.
They’re from B Beauty – a brand I’ve recently come across and fallen in love with (I’m not affiliated with them, pinky promise!). And, seeing as the summer months are starting to set in (HALLELUJAH), I thought it would be the perfect time to share this cute little kit with you all.
The whole idea of the B Beauty brush kit is that it’s travel-friendly, and I completely agree with that! As well as the four little brushes it also comes with a handy case, and, I’ll let you in on a secret – see that top picture? The brushes were inside the case! I mean, anyone can find room for that in their handbag, no matter how much junk you’ve got stashed away in there.
The case is 15cm by 1cm (yes, I measured it – that’s dedication for you) which is just fantastic for on the go. It’s also super lightweight with barely any difference whether the brushes are inside or not. Inside the case there’s a decent-sized mirror and a little zip pocket which is cute – although to be honest I could only really fit a lipstick or two inside it.
B. Powder: The powder brush is my favourite brush in the whole set, hands down. Since I got this little kit I’ve been using this brush every single day – and I haven’t been travelling anywhere! It’s just perfect for absolutely everything. I’ve been using it for setting my under-eye area and for blusher but this morning I used it with my BareMinerals Original foundation and it worked excellently with this too.
B. Foundation: Now, before I start talking about this brush I want to point out that I’m not a flat foundation brush kinda girl – I like buffing brushes and that’s about it, so this was never going to be a favourite for me. I have tried it, I have to say, but I just found that it didn’t apply my foundation very nicely, very much like I expected it to. A miss for me.
B. Eyeshadow: I’m actually pretty chuffed with this brush! I didn’t have a really dense flat eyeshadow brush in my collection and I reckon this’d be a pretty decent dupe for the MAC 239 (but don’t quote me on that; I actually don’t own the 239). It’s perfect for picking up lots of product and really packing it down onto the lids for intense colour, or applying shadow under the lower lashline.
B. Lip: I don’t usually use lip brushes with my lip products, purely because I’m too lazy for them, but I love the fact that this has a little lid on it – perfect to throw into your bag without it resurfacing covered in fluff and crumbs next time you need it. Despite saying I’m not usually a lip brush fan, I do think this brush has the perfect stiffness to tidy up a messy application (which I’m guilty of most days!).
The brushes are synthetic too (yay) and are so, so soft! They pick up product beautifully, AND weight next to nothing whilst you’re using them. One thing I think’s missing though is an eyeshadow blending brush!
At £17.99, I do think that this is slightly over the price I’d be usually willing to pay, but the size of the case and the brushes drew me right in. I’ll definitely be travelling with these babies this summer.
Liking the look of these lil’ brushes? Pick them up here.
