‘Treat Yourself’ Beauty Splurge! | Part 1

As I’m sure that many of you have gathered by now, I’m rather partial to a spot of shopping… And throw some makeup into the equation and I’m pretty much unbearable. Love me a beauty spree!

I decided to go on a wild ‘treat yourself’ sort of spree a few weeks ago, online and in store, so I just thought I’d share the bits and bobs I’ve picked up with you all today!

The majority of the products I boughtΒ are high-end which is kind of unusual for me, but I’ve been saving up my pennies for some specific products for a while now and just decided to finally pick them all up!

mac plumful

I’ll start with MAC Plumful because I’ve already written a whole dupe post on it here, but I haven’t mentioned it in a haul so it still counts, right? πŸ™‚

This is a Lustre lipstick, so it’s really moisturising and gives medium colour coverage on the lips I’d say, although you can layer it up by all means.

The main aspect of this lipstick that makes me love it so much is simply the colour – I’m obsessed with this berry-red with pink undertones to it; I just think it’s so perfect for Autumn and it’s also very easy to wear as opposed to a matte vampy shade.

It’s got that hint of winter to it that I completely love.

I then managed to find myself on the Benefit website somehow (I think I was looking at the limited edition Christmas sets or something?!) and I ended up purchasing two products that I’ve had my eyes on for quite some time. They came TODAY and I was so excited to finally have them!

The first is the full size of the Benefit They’re Real, because the mini from my Benefit Beauty Score set (here’s a review) has pretty much completely dried up and I recently remembered how much I used to love that mascara. I’ve heard that the mini performs differently to the full size, so I was intriguedΒ to try the full size and maybe do a comparison post for you all!

Now THIS I’ve wanted for possibly years, I want to say – and it’s the Rockateur boxed blusher, also from Benefit. I used to be a big fan of Gabby, AKA velvetgh0st, and she went on and on about this blusher in probably every single video… But it’s Benefit – it’s expensive, and I didn’t want to just buy it without testing it myself.

But I tried it on my cheeks in store a few weeks back and knew that I’d love it – and I really do! At first, when it arrived this morning, I thought they’d reformulated it because it looked very glittery. However, I used it on my cheeks today and I can see in the pan that the glitter seems to be an overspray and a gorgeous pearlescent deep pink is left behind.

I’ve only had chance to use it once but I love it so far! Expect a review of this very soon.

And finally, finally, I simply couldn’t resist popping into Boots earlier on in the week, and I finally picked up another Bold Metals brush from Real Techniques. I already own two of them (see the ones I own here!) but I love them so much that I decided to buy another.

This is the 300 Tapered Blush Brush, and I actually mentioned in my previous post that I didn’t like small brushes for blusher – but I’ve recently been getting into more richly pigmented blushers and if I use a big, fluffy brush, saturated colour ends up all over my flipping face.

That’s why I thought this brush’d be so handy – as well as for contouring, as it’s tapered, so it’d fit beautifully in the hollows of my cheeks.

So that’s the first instalment of my ‘treat yourself’ haul… Keep your eyes peeled for part 2! I’m still waiting on some packages to arrive…

What have you picked up recently? Do you like it… Or do you regret it? Let me know!

Enjoy your weekend!

    1. They’re flipping pricey I have to agree! This is actually the only one I’ve bought full price though – the others I own I managed to pick up on a 25% off offer at Boots which was amazing!
Keep an eye out for deals like that – they make paying for them less heart wrenching! Haha xxx

      1. It wears pretty well actually. At first it has a sheen to it but as the day goes on it fades to a stain. I’d say you can easily get at least 2 hours out of it – pretty good for a moisturising lipstick in my opinion x

    1. I’m actually from the UK so Colour Pop isn’t super accessible to me unfortunately, so I’m not sure of the consistency of them. Are they quite stiff and in need a bit of blending?
The brush is pretty dense so I’m sure it’d be alright with them… Let me know about the texture of the Colour Pop bits and I may be able to help you further! πŸ™‚ xxxx

      1. Ah right, I haven’t used the Maybelline ones but I have some softer blushers myself that are similar. The brush should be fine for them as it’s quite dense but it still has some movement to it x
