I was in the mood for blogging today but I had no idea what to do it about, so I thought I’d have a lil’ chat with you instead of writing a serious review.
I’m going to be sharing with you my experience of shopping at a YSL counter, and I want to start doing these more often at different high-end brands, because I feel that when you’re spending a fair bit on products the customer service should be top notch – am I right?
As you’ll know if you’re a common reader of my posts, I currently own a couple of lipsticks from YSL and they are not cheap, let me tell you! If you’re wondering about shades there’s Peach Passion and Iced Plum, and I bought them on two separate occasions.
I was a bit anxious about getting round to buying the first lipstick I was after because I’ve had several negative experiences at different luxury counters, where the staff can be quite flippant with you and seem desperate to get onto the next customer. I also found some of the staff on the counter quite rude when I’d asked for a sample of one of the foundations on a different day.
However… My experience turned out to be nothing like I thought it would be!
I wasn’t too sure of a shade that I was looking for specifically, so the lovely girl sat me down and brought over a selection of different colours that she guessed that I might like from the details I’d told her. She put up with my pickiness and gave her honest opinion on the shades that suited me and the shades that should probably be put back!
She then popped it into the bag for me while I was paying and just generally chatted to me like I was a friend.
It was so unexpected but she was very genuine and real, and the next time I returned to buy my second lipstick the girl who helped me was just as sweet.
I would definitely, without a shadow of a doubt, return to my YSL counter and buy the whole stand if I could, because the ladies there are just so sweet and helpful!
Thank you, YSL, for employing such fantastic and helpful staff!
Have you had an experience at a makeup counter that you’d like to share… Good or bad?
Would you like these posts more often?
PS This marks day 1 of my BLOGMAS! It may seem late but as I have been really busy throughout December I thought I’d begin a week ’till Christmas. I hope you’re excited for a blog post daily – I certainly am! 🙂
