2015 Beauty Favourites | Part 2

Hopefully you guys caught part 1 of my yearly favourites, but if not – don’t you fret! Here’s the link… But today I thought I’d share my second batch of favourites from 2015, as there’s been so many this year I decided splitting things in half would make life easier for both you as readers and me as a writer!

The MAC Prep & Prime Fix + Spray became my partner in crime from the very first time that I used it… Man, this stuff is just so good!
As I’ve mentioned millions of times my skin is extremely dry and dehydrated, making any foundation I use cling to patches I want to conceal and powders I use shout out to everyone nearby “LOOK! SHE HAS SO MUCH CAKEY POWDER ON HER FACE EW”.
MAC Fix + is basically the zip for that irritating cakey powder guy’s mouth. Not only does it refresh my skin, it takes away the powdery finish leaving a film of dewy radiance behind!

Seeing as 2015 ’twas the year of discovering Urban Decay, I just had to mention my original Naked palette in my yearly favourites! I mean, how couldn’t I?
I’m totally aware that money definitely doesn’t grow on trees & I do my best to never tell you guys that something incredibly expensive is worth the cash… But I have to say that this is worth your time.
The colour selection would suit just about every skin tone, the formula is buttery and soft and the pigmentation is amazing. The shadows blend beautifully and basically make creating any eye look easy even for eyeshadow amateurs like me!

Choosing my favourite mascara of the year was a bit of a tricky one, because 2015 was definitely the year that my picky lash needs were met and I found several absolute stars.
Although I have loved Maybelline’s Lash Sensational, Laura Geller GlamLash and Benefit They’re Real, it has to be Benefit’s Roller Lash that’s stood out to me the most this year!
It separates, lengthens and holds a curl all day long! The only thing I’m not so keen on is the price, but if fluttery lashes is as important to you as it is to me this mascara would not disappoint you.

In terms of nude lipsticks, it wasn’t hard to choose my favourite at all! I have honestly worn Rimmel’s Kate Moss 08 lipstick more than any other over 2015.
The colour is that perfect ‘my lips but better’ shade and the formula is rich and creamy with fantastic longevity.

And as for my favourite darker lipstick… Yes, maybe this is cheating a bit as I only purchased it earlier this month in my haul, but MAC’s Rebel has become an A/W staple for me for sure!
Although it looks intimidating in the bullet it actually transfers much lighter onto the lips and is a beautiful berry colour which I wore all through the festive season… It even lasted through my Christmas dinner!

And finally I have quite possibly my favourite discovery of the year. I know I mentioned in part 1 that I’ve loved the Blush Brush from Real Techniques this year, but for applying my foundation the Miracle Complexion Sponge has totally wowed me and wins over any foundation brush I’ve tried! For a full review see here.
I just like that it doesn’t emphasize dry patches, as buffing can sometimes irritate the skin, and it is excellent for building coverage or sheering things out. You can use it damp or dry.

So that’s my second lot of favourites! Make sure to check out part 1 if you haven’t already!

What have you loved this year? I’m always in the market to try new things, so let me know in the comments!

  1. My definite favourites of the year are Maybelline Lash Sensational and all the products in my “Top 5 Products” post I uploaded recently. Have you tried any of those I mentioned? As for the lip product, I don’t know. I’ve used some amazing lip tints/stains/sticks/glosses this year.

    1. Ooh I absolutely love the Lash Sensational mascara! It was a total toss up between that and Roller Lash! It makes your lashes look so amazing!
And yeah, picking out my favourite lip things was just the worst. It took so long to narrow things down! 🙂 xx

    1. Thank you Lucie! Those sound like great ones too… Funnily enough I haven’t tried either! Ah well, I shall pop them on my 2016 shopping list (which is already a mile long hehe).
Which Naked Palette did you pick up in the end gorgeous? xx

      1. It’s so funny you mentioned YDK; it’s actually MY favourite shade in the Naked 2 too!! It’s just beautiful isn’t it?
And definitely do. The first and second are very different so having both really does complete a perfect neutral collection! 🙂 xx
