Part 2 of a rather epic beauty haul

Hello everyone… I’m so happy to be back! Thanks to some technical problems I’ve been away for a wee while, but can’t wait to get back into the swing of things.

As some of you may probably have gathered by now I am quite partial to a spot of beauty shopping, and although it’s now past the festive season & everyone has the January blues (me included, ugh), I did snap up some bargains in the sales & splash some cash on some little bits and pieces I’ve been eyeing up for a while.

I thought I’d share these discoveries with you today!

First up, a spot of Real Techniques. As you will know if you caught my 2015 Beauty Favourites (check it here if you haven’t), since discovering the Miracle Complexion Sponge from the brand I have found myself falling totally in love. But as I’ve been using that for over 6 months, it’s gotten a bit… Let’s be honest, it’s grubby. It’s a bit icky to look at. And somehow I managed to rip a hole in it (don’t ask).

Either way, I thought those reasons were great excuses to buy a new one, and seeing as I love the sponge so much I grabbed this 2-pack as soon as I saw it! I think it’s such a good deal to pick up two at a time, as not only are they great for foundation & concealer, they also blend cream highlighter and contour into the skin beautifully too.

Over the festive period I had my eyes peeled for the Debenhams Boxing Day sales… And sure enough, once curled up on the couch stuffed with a Christmas dinner, I spotted this absolute bargain from Benefit – the Pucker Up and Party Kit!

I had been lusting after this when it was first released around October and hadn’t simply got round to purchasing, so when it went down to £13 from nearly £20 I just had to grab one! Inside you get two mini deluxe tints; Benetint and Posietint, and you also get two full sized balms; Benebalm and Posiebalm to match the tints. Considering one of the balms is about £15 alone this was a deal too fabulous not to take advantage of!

Unfortunately I don’t have a link as I’m pretty sure it’s sold out everywhere unless you wanted to check eBay.

And now onto a few bits that I just picked up because I fancied giving them a whirl!
The first is the Prolongwear Concealer from MAC which I have honestly been eyeing up for months, but because it’s pricey I was determined to do my research first. As I have such dry skin I was concerned that it’s be thick and cling to any uneven skin texture, so I read 50+ reviews first! 🙂

I have not been disappointed though! I only used Rimmel Wake Me Up before this, which is a great concealer but does not provide fantastic coverage for spots or dark circles (and I have plenty of both). This concealer is so highly pigmented that you only need the tiniest drop and it will cover any imperfections you have but NEVER looks cakey or drying! I can use this on blemishes or under the eyes and it looks flawless when used in either way.

I am totally and utterly obsessed with this concealer at the minute & will be writing a full review for you guys ASAP!

Finally I decided to give the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil a try, because this has been mentioned in so many YouTubers’ favourites videos! Plus, I’m just a sucker for hydrated lips.

This lip oil claims to ‘combine makeup and skincare with a cocktail of plant oils, nourishing fatty acids, hazelnut, raspberry and organic jojoba oils to instantly smooth the lips’.
Since the weather here in the UK has been less than warm recently (okay, it’s been flipping freezing) I’ve been really struggling with dry lips that I just can’t get back to smooth and soft. I’ve tried many different lip balms & treatments from the drugstore over the past month but I was in the market to spend a bit more cash, because let’s be honest, I was desperate!

Although this is an expensive bugger it has done absolute wonders to my lips! I won’t say much more than that because I do want to write a full detailed review soon, but just know that I’m not regretting my splurge at all!

So those are the bits I’ve picked up recently!

Did you grab any bargains in the sales?

    1. Me too my lovely! Yes, the scent it just perfect – slightly sweet but nothing overpowering. It doesn’t taste of anything though which I personally prefer. There’s nothing worse than a mouthful of chemical lip balm… 🙂 xxx

    1. Aw thank you my lovely, I’ve missed chatting to you! 🙂 Technology is definitely NOT my strong point so fingers crossed things will be okay from now!
And it’s fabulous, honestly! A pricey number but worth the investment. I’ll make sure to get that review up ASAP for you xx

    1. It’s really excellent – my favourite concealer, probably of all time (minus the price tag!). And I would definitely recommend trying a Real Techniques sponge; I swear by them for applying all cream face makeup! 🙂 xx
