Although I haven’t tried a great deal from The Body Shop, I’ve always been intrigued by their products. Several of them get raving reviews online, so I figured that there must be more to the brand than simply their body butters!
I popped in store the other day and I managed to leave with less cash in my purse, a receipt and a bag with a couple of goodies that I was excited to try out! I haven’t owned them long enough to give you a full review as of yet, but I’ve used them a few times so I’ll haul them and share my first impressions.
I recently ran out of cleanser and wasn’t overly keen on the product I had just finished up, so seeing as I was already in The Body Shop I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try the Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter; something I’ve been lusting after for a fair while! If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of a cleansing balm, here are the basics from a newbie: scoop a little bit out with your fingertips and massage onto dry skin, encouraging it to melt off all makeup, and rinse the skin with warm water before patting dry.
I’ve used it for just under a week now and have really been enjoying it. I like the scent – fresh but not overpowering – but I especially like how gentle it is on my skin and how soft it feels afterwards! It also doesn’t irritate my contact lenses, which, as it states online, it shouldn’t do, so I was happy with that.
This cost me £13.
And then I couldn’t resist the All-In-One Instablur Primer! This totally blew up on blogs and YouTube a couple of years ago and because it’s over £10 I always put it off… Until now!
I’ve been getting very oily in my T-zone, my nose especially, and after using this a couple of times I can honestly say that it has reduced my shine significantly! I just smooth this over my skin post-moisturising and pre-foundation, and I will say that it’s slightly greasy – but I suppose I can put that to one side considering it meant I didn’t need to touch up with powder whatsoever during the day!
This cost me £14.
So those are my recent purchases from The Body Shop with some first impressions thrown in there too! So far, so good, and if all continues to go well I’ll definitely be trying more of their skincare and makeup! Also, keep your eyes peeled for more in-depth reviews of these gems too.
