Five Favourites | February

Once again, a month has completely flown by and left me slightly confused as to where it went… February, you’re the culprit this time!

To be honest, I am so utterly excited for March because I’m in desperate need of some sunny Vitamin D right now. Winter definitely came late here in the UK and February has been a flipping chilly month full of hot water bottles and umbrellas blowing inside out. Either way, March, IMO, marks the official start of spring… Yay!

Throughout the month I’ve been experimenting with new bits and bobs that I’ve recently purchased and I’ve also been going through my makeup stash on the weekly if possible, simply to dig out some old classics so everything’s getting some love.

Here are 5 favourites from the month!

No7 Beautiful Skin Hydration Mask – As mentioned, the weather has been really cold as of late and my super dry skin has been giving me a tough time because of it. This mask from No7 is just a treat that I’ve grown to crave – one pump is enough for all over my face and down my neck, and then I leave it to sink in for a good 30 minutes. I’ll either tissue off the excess or leave it overnight, and when I wake up in the morning my skin feels incredible! Plump, hydrated, and not tight or rough at all.

Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette – I reviewed this palette just over here if you want swatches, but honestly, I can’t get enough of this. Not only are the packaging and price point excellent, but the products inside are just my favourite at the minute – they’ve even taken over my beloved Mary Lou-Manizer! I’ve been especially loving the shade Hemisphere (top right) dusted on the cheeks and the eyelids for a natural sheen and an illuminating glow that’s still natural.

Benefit They’re Real Mascara – I picked up this mascara back in October I think, but didn’t really start using it properly until last month. At first I didn’t like it because it didn’t give that much length, but I’ve recently invested in some better eyelash curlers and I can really see a difference, so I’ve fallen totally in love with this! I especially like the volume it gives my lashes and how it looks fab to touch up with too.

MAC Lustre in Syrup – I mentioned this in my haul over hereΒ and it reallyΒ has lived up to my high expectations. The colour is a perfect mix between purple and pink, so is ideal forΒ neutral everyday wear when you want something different than a plain old nude. The formula (Lustre) is relatively sheer but can be built up to good opacity with a high-shine and moisturising finish. It also has great longevity and leaves a stain once the initial colour has worn off!

Zoeva 221 Luxe Soft Crease – I know that everyone loves the 227 from Zoeva, but after comparing it here to the 221 I can’t really say all that much about it. As I’m a complete amateur when it comes to blending eyeshadow (and I’m confident in saying I always will be!) the domed shape of the 221 fits perfectly into the crease of my eye and does all of the work for me! I will definitely be investing in a couple more when I get the chance as I rarely wash my brushes *smacks hand* and some clean ones on hand would be very useful.

So those are my February favourites! A little mix of makeup, tools and skincare, but I love these bits and pieces a whole lot and will continue using them through March.

What have you been loving through February?

      1. I really like the look of Anna, but that’s very similar to Tom Ford Pussycat which I already own 😦 Ah well, some more investigating needed!

    1. Thank you my lovely! πŸ™‚ And of course, here’s a bit about the mask. I like to apply it about 10 minutes before I go to bed so that the majority soaks in, and then I’ll leave the residue overnight, but it honestly depends on your skin type. My skin is incredibly dehydrated and dry so personally it can cope with heavy moisturisation, but if you’re oily in the t-zone for example, just keep it away from those areas/apply a smaller amount etc.
When it’s first applied it feels thick and creamy and almost leaves a wet, slippery layer on the top of the skin, but this almost fully soaks in on my skin after the 10 minutes and I’m just left with slight tackiness. When I wake up I cleanse as usual and my skin just feels phenomenal; so soft and plump! πŸ™‚
Wow, that was long winded, but I hope it helped. You also get 100ml so it’ll last you ages, despite being a bit more expensive than brands like Garnier and Simple πŸ™‚ xx

      1. You are very welcome! If you’re having dry skin problems, I feel you. Give this a try; it’s saved my skin! Just make sure that if you are using it for the first time, only apply it for 10 minutes before tissuing off the excess just in case you’re allergic! πŸ™‚ xx
