I’m so excited that May is finally here! I am so ready for some sunshine, and May really does seem to encourage the sun to peek out from behind the grey clouds that have pretty much hung over all of April.
Although not necessarily the best month when it comes to the weather, I’ve loved the makeup looks I managed to create over the past few weeks. Today I thought I’d share with you some of the products I used to muster up the face I’ve worn a lot recently!
Although I love dewy skin all year round (and never seem to stop mentioning this during blog posts…) this month I’ve being doing lots of research into how to add that healthy glow to your complexion – and it was during this research that I remembered about my NARS Dual Intensity Blush in Adoration. I’d totally forgotten about this product, and as you can probably tell I’ve been using that paler shade to death recently! It adds the most gorgeous natural sheen to the cheeks, and as it doesn’t have a whole lot of actual colour it’s hard to look overdone.
I’ve also whipped out my Max Factor Excess Shimmer in 25 Bronze once again, because this is perfect for busy days when I have approximately 3 minutes to slap on some colour! I’ve been using a brush to apply this mousse-y formula to the lids and a clean one to buff it out. It’s that perfect warm brown eye in seconds.
I’ve also made a beeline for my original Naked palette throughout April. Although I use it often anyway, I’ve pretty much just used Sidecar, Buck and Smog for my everyday eyeshadow look. The colours are so pigmented and this trio is such a pretty wearable smoky eye! I also love wearing these shades over the top of the Max Factor Excess Shimmer; the colours look more vibrant and last longer too.
Finally, a brand-new discovery – the Infallible Mega Gloss in Protest Queen from L’Oréal! To be honest, I love all three of the shades I have of this formula, but I think that I get the most wear out of this shade… It’s nude, neutral and very easy to pull off.
The consistency has the perfect amount of tackiness to it (enough so it stays put without gluing your lips together) and the longevity it amazing! They are also incredibly moisturising, so are brilliant for my dry lips. I did a full review with lip swatches HERE.
So those are my top picks from April!
What have you loved this month?
