Once again, I’ve broken my vow not to spend any cash for a couple of months… And the culprit, as always, is makeup!
I’ve picked up a couple of bits and pieces the last few times I’ve been shopping, and I thought I’d share them with you today.
Firstly, I picked up a new foundation. I haven’t actually purchased a new one to try in just over a year and everything I own is slowly beginning to run out… So I used this as an excuse to try something totally different!
I chose to try the L’Oréal Lumi Magique, because I’ve heard so many positive things about it and, as I’m sure most of you know by now, I love dewy, radiant skin. The coverage offered by this product is really gorgeous; medium but buildable and very natural. The colour match is spot on; one of the best I’ve ever seen, and the finish is a natural dewy glow – nothing too greasy and extreme which is good because my T-zone does have a tendency to be rather shiny. Overall I’m loving this so far and cannot wait to continue using it!
I also picked up a new bronzer because I haven’t picked up a new one in way too long! The Soap & Glory Solar Powder is very popular and I’ve heard so many good things about it, especially for those with a fair complexion such as me. It has two sections; a darker matte shade and a pale slightly shimmery side. It is the perfect tone for my pale skin and doesn’t look orange or muddy in any way, particularly when I swirl both the dark and light shades together.
I like that I can add this to the tops of my cheekbones and my temples and look very natural, not like I’m wearing a powder. Tan… In a compact!
I popped into my local Debenhams (nothing new here…) and was absolutely elated to see that there is now a Make Up For Ever counter actually in store! *excited squeal* I’ve been desperate to try products from this brand but because it’s American based you can’t access it easily in the UK – you can order online from Sephora but I’m one of those people who enjoys swatching and playing before I buy.
Anyway, I popped over to the counter and fell head over heels for these two beautiful eyeshadows – a warm brown with berry undertones (I-606) and a muted aqua green with brown undertones (ME-302). I’m desperate to start experimenting with different colours, and these shades allow me to do that but still feel comfortable and relatively natural. The formula is just amazing; so highly pigmented and easy to blend! They’re simply buttery to apply and I can’t wait to review them for you guys.
Finally, a lipstick purchase! I usually buy neutral mauve tones or nudes, and it’s rare that I pick up a true pink so I decided to in light of spring having well and truly arrived (we’ve even seen some sun). This is Panorama Pink by Smashbox!
Zoella used this in one of her recent makeup tutorials and it just looked beautiful on her, so I decided to buy it for myself because all of her recommendations have been so helpful to me. She described the colour perfectly; an ideal combination of a Barbie pink and a baby pink, so it’s so perfect for this time of year! I haven’t worn it too many times so I don’t really have a comment on its longevity, but the formula is lovely and creamy with a nice shine and moisturising texture. I’m looking forward to wearing it more!
Have you picked anything interesting up recently?
Hope you’re enjoying the sunshine!
