Yet another month has come and gone, and that means I have a batch of new favourites to share with you all! I’m so excited to finally be able to say that summer has arrived, and, believe it or not, I’ve actually seen some sunshine which is a rarity here in the UK. It’s made me oh-so-chirpy to make use of my garden for once!
Anywho, here are a selection of my favourite bits and bobs from the month of May. Enjoy!
I actually decided to get up and do something about my skin this month, which is a miracle in itself. I’m sure most of you know by now that I have extremely dry skin (it’s not like I mention it in every post!) and I also have a lot of redness through my cheeks that just won’t shift. I popped in to see my GP a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been confirmed to have rosacea. That sucks.
I was prescribed some medicated cream of some sort, and I was also given a tube of this Aveeno Moisturising Cream with Colloidal Oatmeal and oh, my, goodness, am I obsessed with this stuff! It might not be the most glamourous (and lets just say makeup doesn’t like it very much…) but my skin has never felt so soft, supple and moisturised EVER, and I’ve tried a lot of different creams at a lot of different price points. Although the redness hasn’t fully disappeared yet it’s definitely on its way there and my skin has never been plumper and happier.
I have also been simply obsessed with my L’Oréal Lumi Magique Foundation, which I mentioned in a recent haul post here. As I do have such dry skin, I’ve always loved to have dewy, healthy looking skin, but I’ve tried so many ‘glowy’ foundations and just never got the results I wanted. I find lots of moisturising foundations oxidise on my skin, and let’s be honest, who wants to look tangoed?! The Lumi Magique is a gorgeous light consistency that blends beautifully but can also give a relatively high coverage if you layer it up. It doesn’t oxidise (bonus points) and it lasts brilliantly, as well as giving me a natural radiant finish.
Seeing as I’m so pale and the sun’s come out I’ve also been enjoying my Soap & Glory Solar Powder bronzer, which again I mentioned in that haul post! It’s a really natural colour but I much prefer bronzers that are more sheer because I can be rather heavy handed at the best of times. This powder has two sides; a paler, slightly shimmery side and a deeper matte side. Swirled together they create the most gorgeous healthy shade! To apply it I’ve been loving my Real Techniques Bold Metals 100 Arched Powder, which always makes an appearance along with my bronzers in the summer! This applies product beautifully and evenly, as well as being super soft, synthetic and easy to clean.
What have you been enjoying through May?
