Although the weather here in the UK has been far from tropical as of late, I thought it would be nice to fool ourselves that the weather truly is warm and call this haul summery (despite the fact that on the day when I bought most of these products I was drenched to my skin in a downpour at my local shopping centre!).
Anywho, I have a selection of products I have purchased recently that are rather suited to some sunshine and I thought you might enjoy me sharing them with you, along with my first impressions!
1. MAC Fix + Finishing Mist | £17
I absolutely love Fix +, as I’m sure you already know by now! I’ve almost finished my little travel bottle and so I decided to invest in the full size because I love it so much. It takes away the chalky, unnatural finish that powder products can sometimes leave on the skin to reveal radiant skin. Although I wouldn’t say it keeps my makeup on for any longer, it prevents any patchiness or unevenness when products do start to fade.
2. Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blusher in Soft Pink | £6.99
I have a couple of these cream blushers already so I know I love them! This is probably my favourite cream blush formula along with Bobbi Brown, simply because the formula meshes so beautifully with the skin and the finish is so natural. I really don’t enjoy cream-to-powder products because they can be a little heavy on the skin. These ones are lovely and light and have great staying powder too!
3. Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc in Pink Mosaic | £33
This blusher-highlighter hybrid was flipping expensive, but I have been lusting after it for what seems like years now! I love anything sheeny when it comes to blushers (I like to but highlighter on top of matte blushers too!) and if I could create a blush colour it would probably be this one. There are four different shades; three lighter ones and a deeper plum, which you can use separately or swirl them all together. I absolutely adore this product. Because we’re in the warmer months I’m just using the paler 3 shades (I’ll probably utilise the plum more in the winter) and the sheen it gives is so healthy and natural. I’ve only used it a couple of times but it has become my daily staple!
4. Real Techniques Expert Face Brush | £9.99
I can’t believe I haven’t tried this brush already! My Real Techniques collection is rather extensive and is ever growing, so I was surprised to see that I didn’t own the brands number 1 bestseller; the Expert Face Brush. Although I’m generally more of a sponge girl when it comes to foundation nowadays, this is a lovely buffing brush and gives me a great smooth finish. As always, I expected greatness and received it from Real Techniques as always!
5. Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint in 01 Bare | £22.25
If you have dry skin, you’ll know what I mean when I say that achieving a smooth finish on the skin is something of a miracle. I have a lot of redness so I like a bit of coverage on my cheeks, but at the same time I hate the feeling of product on my skin and crave something light, fresh and dewy. I settled for the light and fresh route with the Sheer Skin Tint, and I have to say that the few times I have worn it I’ve actually managed to embrace my redness that little bit more. This tinted moisturiser-foundation hybrid is so hydrating and plumps out my skin whilst giving the most healthy glow.
6. Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya | £7.99
I already have of Revlon’s famous lip butters in Sweet Tart, so I kind of anticipated enjoying it! As you can see, that’s just what happened & I have been using this lip product very often. It’s a lovely peachy orange shade, and I’m usually so nervous of anything other than pinks and nudes but the sheer formula makes it so easy to wear! It’s super glossy and makes your lips look plump and hydrated. I need to expand my collection further for the summer months!
So there we go, my first impressions on some recent new-buys. I’ll continue to update you all on how I’m getting on with them on Instagram & in reviews!
