I’ve always been a fan of dewy, radiant skin, and the Nars Copacabana Liquid Illuminator became a favourite of mine as soon as I bought it. Since then I’ve fallen more and more in love with it, and while I want to share just how much I enjoy this product with you all, I can’t help but feel a bit disappointed in it’s high price tag. It took me a while to save for it, and it wouldn’t surprise me if many of you were in the same boat.
I’ve been searching for a dupe for simply AGES, and I’ve finally found one… So hopefully you guys find this useful!
The product I have found to be literally identical to the Nars Illuminator is the new True Match Liquid Glow Illuminator from L’Oréal, and it’s in the shade Icy Glow.
As soon as I spotted this brand spanking new product in the ‘new in’ section of my local Boots, I immediately noticed how similar it was to Copacabana and grabbed it for reviewing purposes! I’m so glad I did just that, because it truly is so similar.
They both have 30ml within them; the standard size for a liquid foundation, so they’ll last you for ages seeing as you only need a very small amount. I also think that both of them have quite nice packaging – okay, I do like the way the Nars looks a little more, but it’s the product inside that counts and it doesn’t disappoint!
As for the price difference, the Nars will set you £23 back, whereas the L’Oréal is a cheap and cheerful £6.99. You could save £16!
In terms of formula & colour, there’s nothing between them. They truly are identical. Both are a pale, cool toned slightly pink shade, and both have incredibly fine shimmer particles within them that give a healthy, natural sheen to the face without looking chunky or glittery.
I use both dotted onto the tops of my cheekbones as well as blended in with foundation to give my whole complexion a radiant finish. They both last brilliantly, don’t go patchy and blend easily.
Overall I’m really delighted that L’Oréal have come out with such an exciting new launch that I’m sure will save you all some pennies! These two products really are identical, and I’m being honest when I say that if I was to lose the Nars, I’d be quite happy to stick with the L’Oréal.
You can pick up the Nars here and L’Oréal’s should be on the Boots website soon (you can find the products in store now!).
